From the foundation

Work began at a bare concrete base, where the local team prepared the site for installation of the plant’s main equipment.

Main equipment installation

At Melaka’s 2,242 MW CCGP, Chen Li led the local engineering and mechanical teams in installing three single-shaft turbine trains.

Chen Li

Chief Executive Officer · Project management and mechanical engineering

More than 30 years of experience in installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance across oil, chemicals and fertilizer, power generation, compressed air, air separation, water treatment and mining. His career includes 18 years with Sinopec and 12 years with General Electric.

Equipment expertise — Reciprocating, centrifugal, axial and screw compressors; gas or steam turbine-driven generator sets from 38 to 850 MW; fans; centrifugal, reciprocating, hydraulic and magnetic-drive pumps; and valves.

Plant delivery — Process line-up, individual and integrated testing, commissioning, start-up, fault response and handover to clients for operation and production. Experienced with mechanical assembly drawings, P&IDs, DCS and ESD systems, safe operation and maintenance.

Project management — Master’s degree, with two years of study at Edith Cowan University (ECU), covering budgets, costs, schedules, performance, quality and profitability. Mechanical engineering runs through two generations of his family. Fluent in English and Chinese.
